‘Cause Fate Works Both Ways

This whole band going on “hiatus” thing is really starting to piss me off. The Starting Line announced today that they’re going to be taking a break – adamantly denying a “break up” or “hiatus”, but still. . . There’s a lot of bands I could care less about this happening to but The Starting Line is a bit different.

Normally about this time of year the snow would start melting, the sun would start shining, & I’d have Say It Like You Mean It on repeat during a long stretch of March through April. Yep, it meant that damn much. This is by far the worst winter I can remember.

I remember Warped 2005 in Minnesota. There’s probably a post way back about how much fun that was, despite one member of our group almost having a heat stroke. The Starting Line started playing Leaving – one of my favorite songs. And then it went into this bridge of Love Shack by the B-52′s. It was pretty fucking original.

So what now? They’re releasing their first ever recorded album (that never actually saw the light of day as far as being released) and with it a DVD with performances from Say It Like You Mean It and tons of b-sides. Maybe the sun will come out soon enough?

Sing this song for me
And tell me how you’ll never leave my side
I’ll meet you at seven
I miss you already
Goodbye to you
The last goodbye I’ll ever say to you
