Kanye West. You can sample like a mad man. I may not like you, but I respect the hell out of you. But do anybody make real shit anymore? Well, you don’t. 808 & Heartbreaks is all autotune. That’s not news. But that lyric really pisses me off. I bet Kanye’s next studio album features far less.

Not my favorite hip-hop artist. Wanna know who are my favorite hip-hop artists? The Roots. You know what’s awesome about The Roots? They’re going to be Jimmy Fallon’s house band for Late Night. You know what’s awesome about Late Night with Jimmy Fallon? Demographic targeting. The crew behind Late Night are going to be reaching out to the second largest age demographic. That means a nightly talk show host that is using new tools to reach out to us. Between vlogging and twitter, Fallon is attempting to reach out and interact with fans, garnering early attention from web 2.0 enthusiastic viewers. He’s stated he wants to treat major video game releases like movie premiers and has already made good on an invite to have Kevin Rose and Alex Albrecht, former TechTV cable cohosts and current internet television personalities on the show in just the second week of taking the reins from O’Brien.

And while Rose and Albrecht may be lower key guests, Jimmy Fallon opens tonight with Robert DeNiro, Justin Timberlake and musical act Van Morisson. Overall, tonight should be an interesting glimps into what the future holds for Late Night.
