Just when I thought Diablo II could never be trumped in my heart.
DIABLO® III REVEALED AT BLIZZARD HEADQUARTERS
IRVINE, Calif. - April 1, 2008 — Overwhelmed by an army of angry and impatient fans, Blizzard Entertainment® today reluctantly unveiled Diablo® III, the third groundbreaking title in its highly acclaimed role-playing game series and sequel to the award-winning Diablo® II: Lord of DestructionTM, at the company’s very first surprise press conference at its newly opened headquarters.
The announcement took place in the Blizzard Entertainment campus courtyard, in front of select members of the press who received a startling impromptu presentation that included a ten-second, freshly pre-rendered Diablo III cinematic trailer and a physically re-enacted gameplay demonstration by the development team taken hostage by the gamers.
Under threat of a forum member’s taser “of teh win,” public relations staff explained that designed to be a revolutionary single-player and online role-playing experience, Diablo III will set players on a multitude of dynamically generated quests on the path to defeat the demonic forces of Diablo and his demon brothers Baal and Mephisto. Eight brand new and re-imagined character classes [zzap! aieee!] will be highly customizable in appearance and abilities, with 20 hero-specific skills per character and 10 shared abilities used to battle over 300 varieties of monsters in and an immersive 3D-graphics world. MGO Update 1.3
Quick! Before I forget and walk away to play GTA4.
I forgot to mention that Metal Gear Online has been updated to include a new map and game mode, the latter being most appealing to me. From the Playstation Blog:
In this rule, there will be one character and two teams in the game. Snake, Red team, and Blue team. Snake’s mission is to collect a certain number of dog tags, by having other players stunned or held up. Red and Blue teams’ mission is to defeat Snake certain times or defeat more players in the opposing team. If more than 10 people are in the game, another player may play as Snake’s mini robotic sidekick Mk. II, to assist the Snake player. If you are playing as Snake, you have many of his incredible abilities available to you – such as the camouflage!
There’s aspects of the beta that are fun but it still needs a lot of work before the final version comes out.
Uh oh Jack Thompson…
Grand Theft Auto IV is out today - or was out at midnight for some of you luckier souls.
I’ll be doing lots of drug deals and hookers for a while so someone better come up with a highly entertaining and thought provocative post whilst I’m gone, okies?
People, people, people. . .
Grand Theft Auto Iv comes out next Tuesday. That’s just five days away! But you couldn’t wait, could you? Not even a week.
Well, the game was leaked on to torrent sites and has been confirmed to work - but you idiots couldn’t stop there, eh? Had to jump into the online play? Well that was dumb. You do know that all of your Live stats are recorded?
So not only does Microsoft know you have a pirated version of the game, they know your Xbox 360 is modded to play it! Good luck with that one. You’re about to meet Mr. Ban-hammer, me thinks.
Amazing Review
Oh… Uh… Jesus. Best review ever. ’nuff said.
