It’s rainin’, rainin’

Uhh… I accidentally deleted the music category so there’s going to be some very scattered posts until I track them all down and reassign them. Go me.

Anyways, Punk Goes Crunk releases on April 8TH. The “Punk Goes . . .” series is important because it shines some light on up and coming scene artists and, in my opinion, it’s never a bad thing when a new artist gets more exposure- even if it’s on a rap cover album. If you haven’t checked out Punk Goes 80′s or Punk Goes Acoustic 1 & 2 then you should get on that.

Also we have another new author coming on board. Craig W. (not to be confused with Craig B.) will be throwing his thoughts into the basket we’ve got here. I’m not up for posting their last names so they can do that if they want – and hopefully they’ll use different nicknames for posting. . .

About Lucas

I'm a 22 year old writer-wanna-be from Iowa. After starting my first hobby site in 2004 and dabbling in web design and development, I registered Postblink.com in late 2006 to share my love (and hatred) for different aspects of all kinds of music. The site still serves that purpose, in addition to my thoughts on life and different events happening in my life.

Actually, in a sick sort of way, I was pleased with Punk Goes Crunk. I enjoy the other Punk Goes albums. (Except I’m a little frightened by Punk Goes Metal.) But Punk Goes Crunk made it ok for me to listen to those songs, lol. I hear them in the basement parties terribly often and now it’s fine to have a little jam session because they sound a thousand times better. P.S. Forever the Sickest Kids, yeeeeah.

I actually regret using my forumming username on here. I’m Craig W. Or Craig#1, for the sake of drudging up an old high school rivalry with Craig#2, AKA Craig B.

So what’s the theme with Punk goes Crunk? Like what would be required for an artist to make it on this album. From what I understand, “crunk” has little/nothing to do with music (except maybe rap?). Therefore I am confused.

Unfortunately I cannot change your user name although I could delete your account and you could register again with whatever user name you’d like – let me know.

You can change what name is associated with your post – if you look at the articles on the site you’ll see under the title either “Lucas” or “hayleyhoney” and so forth – you can choose this in your profile section after you login. I believe your options would be Mob1us, Craig, or your full name.

The Punk Goes Crunk album is an album with rap covers by what I would describe as scene artists or up and coming indie/pop punk artists. Say Anything, All Time Low, & New Found Glory are just a few of the artists that contributed covers. As for the album titled – I assume it was just a catchy title? lol

Wow. So are you saying “punk” artists are making punk covers of originally rap songs? Or are they making rap covers of rap songs? Lol.

And I can manage with this username, thanks. :=_

It appears to be a little of both worlds. Clips available here.
